Hi everyone - ok so we live in manresa and to try and get the kids ages 6.5 and 9 into a school is a bloody nightmare. Ok the are fully registered as spanish citizens as my gorgeous wife is of catalan descent. So the head of each region inspector you have to try and call. Good luck in spanglish!. Also then the school that you stay close to you, you have to enroll in and when they see you are 100% english they really dont want you as its major complicated for them to teach when they dont have a clue of english. So if you are living in some sort of little back door town, then your screwed. So you have to use an american or uk based home school course - we have had really good results with the ACE christian one - yes yes bit of bible in it and its excellent. But we would like the kids to merge into mainstream schools in time. Is there anyone out there who knows of any schools in the barcelona region that may accept english speaking kids and will be kind enough to accept them for who they are. Anyway we are learning spanish - catalan as quick as possible and love spain, but the education for little ones who can adjust quickly has become a bit of a setback. The other option is to move down to a more english speaking areas and hang out "wif me mates" - but thats why i left the uk - love me mates, but can live wiff them - actually i can, so do we may move down south... - isolation is it a bit grim and we need fellowship!!
